A little context goes a long way. These are research snapshots, not live quotes. APY includes compounding; APR does not. Nexo’s advertised annual rate is conditional. Different assets and yield methods are not directly comparable. Check the provider’s current terms before depositing.

Spreadefi

Exchange pools

Earnings powered by exchange trading activity.

Spreadefi lets you earn by supplying crypto to exchange liquidity pools. Traders pay a fee each time they swap against these pools, and a share of those fees flows back to liquidity providers as earnings. The advertised rate of over 15% is variable: it moves with trading volume, the pool you select, and market conditions, so actual returns can be higher or lower over time.

There is no lockup — you can request a withdrawal whenever you choose, although payouts depend on the pool having enough available liquidity. Providing liquidity also carries impermanent loss risk: if the relative prices of the pooled assets move apart, the value of your position can lag simply holding the assets.

+ WHY CONSIDER IT

Earnings linked to real exchange activity rather than borrower interest, with no lockup and flexible entry and exit.

↳ KEEP IN MIND

Variable returns that depend on trading volume, smart contract risk, and impermanent loss when pooled asset prices diverge.

Morpho

DeFi lending

Choose the strategy behind your yield.

Morpho vaults allocate a deposited asset across lending markets according to parameters set by an independent curator. The yield comes from those underlying allocations, so two vaults holding the same asset can have very different returns and exposures.

This is an option for users willing to inspect a vault, not just a brand name. Review the curator, collateral exposure, fees, and available liquidity. A displayed net APY can include rewards or other boosts, and should not be treated as a durable future return.

+ WHY CONSIDER IT

A choice of curated strategies with information about underlying markets and allocations.

↳ KEEP IN MIND

Curator and governance decisions, smart contract exposure, bad debt, and limited withdrawal liquidity.

Lido

Liquid staking

Stake ETH while holding a liquid receipt.

Lido offers liquid staking for Ethereum. Stakers receive stETH, a token representing their stake and rewards. The quoted staking APR is an estimate that changes with network rewards, and Lido’s published calculation accounts for the protocol’s reward fee.

The receipt token adds flexibility, but selling it is different from redeeming it. A market swap depends on the available price and liquidity; a protocol withdrawal follows a request-and-claim process. Consider both routes before deciding how quickly you could access ETH.

+ WHY CONSIDER IT

An Ethereum-focused staking route with a tokenized position that can be held or used in compatible applications.

↳ KEEP IN MIND

Validator and smart contract risks, a possible discount when selling stETH, and variable redemption waits.

Coinbase

Centralized staking

Staking from an exchange account.

Coinbase brings staking into a familiar account interface. Its official Earn page displayed an estimated 2.30% ETH APY in the source consulted for this comparison. This is a dated snapshot, not a locked-in offer. Rewards vary, and the amount shown in your account may differ.

Coinbase deducts a commission from network rewards. Standard unstaking takes time; instant unstaking may be available for an additional fee and is subject to limitations. Confirm that your asset and jurisdiction are eligible before transferring funds.

+ WHY CONSIDER IT

An account-based workflow for users who prefer the provider to handle the staking process.

↳ KEEP IN MIND

Provider custody, commission on rewards, geographic restrictions, and asset-specific unstaking delays.

Nexo

Centralized savings

More options, with more conditions to read.

Nexo offers account-based flexible and fixed-term savings products. Its global USDC page advertises up to 10.5% annually for fixed-term savings. The applicable rate depends on the product, loyalty tier, reward choice, and region; this maximum is not the default rate for every customer.

Flexible products prioritize access, while fixed terms commit assets for a defined period. Regional offerings can differ materially. Read the terms shown in your own account, including minimum balances and the requirements for any higher rate, before treating an advertised maximum as attainable.

+ WHY CONSIDER IT

Multiple savings terms and supported assets within a single custodial account.

↳ KEEP IN MIND

Counterparty and custody risk, term restrictions, jurisdictional limits, and extra token exposure if selecting token-based rewards.

OUR APPROACH

The right comparison
starts with better questions.

“Best” depends on your asset, location, experience, and need for access. Our shortlist brings different yield models together so you can see their trade-offs.

Back to the comparison
01 /

Understand the source of yield

We distinguish borrower interest, blockchain staking rewards, and custodial savings products.

02 /

Read the conditions, not just the rate

We surface withdrawal limits, fees, eligibility, and conditions attached to advertised returns.

03 /

Keep the research traceable

Every guide links to official sources. The order groups useful starting points; it is not a scored safety assessment, exhaustive market survey, or promise of returns.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you earn.

The essentials, without the jargon.

What’s the difference between APY and APR?+

APR expresses an annual rate without compounding. APY includes a compounding assumption. Compare the same asset, time period, fees, and reward currency as well as the percentage. Neither tells you whether your asset’s price will rise or fall.

Is the highest crypto yield always the best?+

A higher advertised rate can come with a volatile asset, promotional rewards, a lockup, or additional platform and smart contract risks. Check how rewards are funded and whether the quoted rate applies to your balance and location.

Can I lose money earning crypto yield?+

Yes. Asset prices can fall, stablecoins can lose their peg, smart contracts can fail, and custodial providers can become insolvent. Staking also introduces validator and withdrawal risks. Yield does not guarantee that your principal is protected.

Are these rates live?+

No. This page is a dated editorial snapshot using linked official sources. “Variable” means we do not show a verified numeric quote for that product. Use the official platform to check current rates, fees, eligibility, and withdrawal conditions.

Does this website hold or invest my crypto?+

No. Best Crypto Rates is a comparison and information page. It does not connect to your wallet, accept deposits, or execute transactions. Provider links take you to separate websites.
